Step Into a Role That Makes an Impact! We’re seeking a Raw Materials Buyer to drive success at NBL Isando Biscuits in Kempton Park, Gauteng. The successful incumbent will be responsible for ensuring material availability to meet weekly master production schedules.

                    

Reporting Structure:

  • Reports to: Logistics Manager

 

Key Areas of Impact:

  • Key Responsibilities:
  1.  Inventory and Material Planning
  • Maintain stock levels within target days cover.
  • Ensure material availability to meet weekly Master Production Schedule (MPS).
  • Prevent stock outs through effective safety stock management.
  • Use MRP to manage weekly and monthly order/stock requirement forecasts.
  • Collaborate with site scheduler to identify and mitigate material risks.
  1. Procurement and Supplier Management
  • Manage daily bulk stock orders (e.g., flour, sugar, eggs).
  • Expedite and de-expedite orders as required.
  • Maintain purchase orders and ensure process compliance.
  • Monitor and manage Supplier OTIF (On-Time In-Full) performance.
  • Conduct monthly supplier meetings and maintain top 10 supplier interface.
  • Coordinate purchase price variances with Head Office procurement.
  • Communicate Purchase Order (PO) price/quantity variances to Financial Shared Services (FSS) Head Office.

    3.  Imports and Documentation

  • Place orders for shipping documents and foreign purchases.
  • Compile and issue indents for imported materials.
  • Manage import-related documentation and processes.

    4. System and Data Management

  • Maintain accurate ERP master data and MRP inputs.
  • Manage weekly past dues and ensure system integrity.
  • Own and updated Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
  • Ensure purchase price variance is kept to a minimum.

    5. Customer Service and Internal Collaboration

  • Provide high-level service to internal and external customers.
  • Action internal customer requests professionally and communicate order status.
  • Work closely with New Product Development (NPD) teams to manage NPS orders and material-related projects.

    6.  Reporting and Analysis

  • Compile monthly performance scorecards and risk analysis reports for the Logistics Manager.

 

Minimum Requirements:

Experience:                                                                   

  • 3–5 years’ experience in material planning or operational procurement in a manufacturing environment.
  • Strong ERP/MRP system experience (SAP) (Non – Negotiable)
  • Proven ability to manage supplier relationships and performance.
  • Excellent communication and analytical skills.

Qualifications:

  • Grade 12 / Matric
  • Diploma or Degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics Management (preferred), Inventory or Planning or similar
  • Computer literate on MS Office.
  • Advanced Excel skills are advantageous
