Your Next Career Move Starts Here! Join our NBL Westmead Biscuits in Westmead, Durban as an Engineering Labourer and the successful incumbent will report to the Maintenance Manager. To ensure that general site repairs and maintenance is done effectively and safely to minimize plant downtime. This should be done to a good standard of workmanship with the aim to maintain and continuously improve all plant and utilities on site.

Reporting Structure:

• Reports to: Mechanical Foreman

Key Areas of Impact:

1. Maintenance execution

• This includes, but is not limited to, inspections, replacement, repair and maintenance of building fixtures and fittings
• Assisting with general plumbing, including washers, taps, unblocking toilets, installing new sinks, urinals and toilets, pipework (copper or PVC)
• Assisting with general tiling of floors and walls, and flooring work, such as carpet tiles
• General painting and decorating.

2. Safety, Risk and Compliance

• To ensure compliance of the OSHACT at Westmead.

3. Quality and Food Safety

• Ensure compliance with legislation & maintain accreditations with the various Quality & Food Safety "governing" bodies.

What It Takes to Succeed:

Experience that set you up for success:                       

• 1-3 years’ experience with general plumbing, tiling and general painting.
• Basic hand tools experience

Qualifications & Certifications that will contribute to your success:

• Matric qualification / Grade 12
• N2 Technical Diploma will be an advantage.
