Job Description
A new vacancy has become available, the successful candidate will be based in Bryanston and will report to the NBL Commercial / Finance Director.
This individual will be required to grow value, volume and profit in line with the business objectives through the development and execution of appropriate sales strategies.
Key Outputs:
- Customer strategy development
- Manage Customer performance: Manage P&L for assigned customers, including forecasting, pricing decisions, and cost of business and margin optimisation
- Deliver customer/channel annual net revenue, volume, profit, and trade investment targets.
- Customer planning: Create and execute joint business plans with customers
- Develop and execute investment and promotional strategies that maximize portfolio ROI and optimize trade spend
- Lead Customer Trading Term Negotiations: Negotiate commercial agreements, trade terms, and strategic initiatives.
- Build senior‑level customer relationships, lead quarterly and annual business reviews with customers
- Ensure the alignment of customer, shopper and consumer plans leveraging data analysis and insights
- Interface with Marketing, Supply Chain, Finance, Category, Field Sales, and Revenue Management teams to deliver customer plans, ensuring customer strategies are aligned with corporate growth priorities
- Lead customer forecasts: internal customer S&OP inputs and demand sessions leading to sound forecast accuracy
- Manage claims, rebates, and commercial agreements in line with internal governance.
- Ensure compliance on listings, pricing, promotional plans, and merchandising standards.
- Work closely with Field Sales/Activation teams to translate customer plans into in‑store execution.
- Identify Customer opportunities and threats, identify competitor strengths and weaknesses
Experience:
- 8 – 10 years’ experience as Customer or National Customer Manager
- FMCG experience
- Proven track record in managing a major Customer / Channel in a South African environment, including demonstrated success with major SA retailers/wholesalers
Qualification:
- Completed Degree in Business Management
Knowledge:
- Relevant in-depth FMCG industry knowledge
- Sound commercial acumen
- Major Customer relationship management
