Reporting Structure:

  • Reports to: Operations Executive

 

Key Areas of Impact:

  • Managing the Material Requirements Planning (MRP) function for Westmead Biscuits including purchasing (call-offs) of Raw and Packaging material to ensure all material required by production is available in time and in full; effective communication and coordination with the Central Procurement function to support Strategic Sourcing Strategies and to ensure supplier relationships are established and maintained; monitor supplier performance, escalate and/or take the necessary actions to correct or improve.
  • Warehousing and Inventory Management of raw and packaging materials, as well as manage the logistics of finished goods from factory to internal or customer DC’s. This includes managing stock levels for all raw material and packaging; managing stock accuracy through cycle counts, stock count report and variance analysis to minimize stock losses.
  • Responsible for the creation of robust and feasible Production Schedules, based on the weekly Production Plan from the Central Planning Function, with the aim of delivering the production plan in full to maximize customer service levels whilst minimizing factory cost at optimal efficiency levels.
  • Managing the sourcing processes of factory owned indirect spend items, including MRO, general spend and services.
  • Drive adherence to SHE, GMP and Food Safety policies and standards within the warehouse and in the factory and ensure minimum safety and legislative requirements are met.
  • Effectively empower and develop staff through goal setting and performance management in order to enable them to contribute effectively and make the right decisions.
  • Implement the appropriate operational strategy to deliver the business goals set.
  • Effectively manage operational budget and drive profitability.
  • Actively drive new product development (NPD) process within the factory to ensure vertical innovation launch.
  • Be the catalyst for a high performance culture in the plant and within the organisation.
  • Review and maintain SOP’s (standard operating procedures) for the various functions in your control

 

What It Takes to Succeed:

Experience that set you up for success:                       

  • Minimum of 8 years’ experience in a manufacturing/warehouse/logistics environment
  • Direct FMCG / manufacturing industry experience
  • Previous experience within Food Manufacturing would be advantageous
  • A track record of delivering excellent results across key performance areas

Qualifications & Certifications that will contribute to your success:

  • Completed business related degree or qualification
  • CSCP certification will be highly advantageous

  • Proven experience of managing people and performance.
  • Industrial Relations (managing poor performance, disciplinary hearings)
